Charles Ahrenfeldt Limoges Art Deco 14 Pc Tea Set

This vintage, art deco style tea set has a distinct Asian look to it, with its short spout and basket-style handle. The design is an orange line-drawn flower with gray leaves on the front and back, with concentric orange circles around the top and black trim. The set includes the teapot & lid, sugar bowl & lid, and matching creamer, as well as 3 dessert plates and 3 cups & saucer sets.

Dimensions: Teapot measures 3 1/2" at the rim or 7" tall at the handle. The sugar bowl is 5 3/4" high at the handle, and the creamer is 5". Each plate is 7 3/4" in diameter and the cups are 1 3/4" high.

Marks: c. 1920's. Each piece has a green handwritten "C. Ahrenfeldt Limoges (France) pour CORTHY 5.7.9. Passage Pommeraye Nantes." "Passage Pommeraye" is a shopping mall in Nantes, built in 1843. Corthy was probably a retail shop in the mall, which offered product from Charles Ahrenfeldt.

Condition: Lovely. Aside from a small chip on the inside rim of the lid on the teapot and a fleabite on the bottom rim of the creamer's spout, we found no chips or cracks on the set. Amazing for its age!

There is a 4th cup that has a few nicks on the rim, and we will include that, along with its saucer and plate, at no additional cost.
