Dragonware Moriage Double Handled Sugar Bowl & Lid Japan

This tankard style, double handled sugar bowl has a charcoal brown matte finish with a pastel moriage dragonware design around the outside, beaded trim around the rims, and a decoration on the handles. The sugar bowl has a matching lid with a decorated brown finial.

Dimensions: Sugar bowl is 3 3/4" high at the rim or 5 1/4" high with the lid.

Marks/Dates: Has a raised star in the center. Also stamped on the bottom with "Hand Painted Nippon" in a circle with a logo, and "Made in Japan" on the outside. "Nippon" was replaced with "Japan" in 1921, so this could indicate that the manufacturer simply added "Made in Japan" to their original mark.

Condition: No chips or cracks. Please note that the hand painting on this piece was not an exact science - especially when it came to the beading. Some are smaller, larger, run together, etc.
