Art Deco Figural Man Novelty Teapot by Petrakovitz

Art Deco Figural Man Novelty Teapot by Petrakovitz
This figural ceramic teapot is in the art deco shape of a man in a suit, with his one arm (the spout) pointing up, and the other arm (the handle) tucked in his pink and gray jacket pocket. His head, with a gray hat, is the lid.

We can't decide if he looks more like he's hailing a cab in Manhattan, or doing John Travolta's disco dance from Saturday Night Fever. But he certainly will brighten up any kitchen!

Dimensions: Teapot measures 6 1/2" long x 4 1/2" deep x 13 1/4" high at the spout.

Marks/Dates: Late 1980's. Hand signed on the bottom, "Petrakovitz." This may be retired studio artist Joyce Petrakovitz from Michigan, who built a loyal following for her creative and stylized work.

Condition: No chips or cracks. A bit of spidery crazing on the white shirt area, but it doesn't seem to detract.
